Why is the exact birth time so important? An exact birth time is important because the Rising Sign changes every 15 minutes. This will affect the house placements and, sometimes, if a person is born just near the time that the Sun or Moon are about to change signs, a matter of 15 minutes can make a big difference (This does not happen as often, but it is a possibility). The outer planets and the aspects will remain the same for the most part, and quite a bit of information can still be gleaned.
-
What if I can't find my birth time? You can still get a very good and enlightening reading without one. However, there will be some information that I cannot discern without one.
-
How do I find my birth time? There are several ways that you can find your birth time. You can look on your birth certificate, in an old newspaper publishing (you can look in the newspaper archives for the city you were born), your old baby books, baby photos, or hospital records. You can also ask your parent(s); however, I must caution you that they don't always remember it exactly, so ask them to find a reference source if possible.
-
What if my parent(s) can only give me an "estimated time frame" for my birth? This is not ideal, but I can enter your time as somewhere in the middle of that timeframe if it is less than an hour. However, this may increase the possibility that a few parts of the interpretation will not resonate with you. Keep in mind that on subsequent readings, as we delve deeper and get to know your story, we may be able to improve its accuracy.
-
Why do I have to pay upfront? That is a great question! As it takes time and effort to do a reading, I must have a payment secured before I can start the complicated task of interpreting your chart. Once your payment is confirmed, you can schedule your appointment time.
-
Can I cancel my order or reschedule my meeting?Once you order and schedule your appointment, there will be no refunds. Rescheduling your appointment time may be possible with adequate notice. Cancelling without a 24 hour notice or failing to show for your appointment time may result in your inability to reschedule (For more information, please read the full Cancellation and Scheduling Policy here).
-
What does the cost for each reading include? Each reading includes a copy of your birth chart and a brief outline of your reading, including questions for self-reflection.
-
What forms of payment do you accept?I use PayPal for my orders. Processing fees are added at check out.
-
Do you do compatibility or relationship readings?I can certainly give insight into the compatibility between you and another person. Be advised that relationship astrology is quite complex and requires extensive analysis. Therefore, multiple sessions will be required to get the most comprehensive reading.
-
What platforms can be used for consultation?I use Zoom for video calls. Alternatively, a consultation can be done over the phone or on FaceTime.
-
Will you record my conversation, or can I record it?Please note that I do not provide a recording of your reading. However, I do provide an outline, and you are welcome to take notes during our conversation. "Pennsylvania statue, it is illegal to record conversations without both parties' consent" (Click here for more information)
-
What topics can we discuss in follow up readings?I am happy to do follow up consultations to delve deeper into your initial reading, or to discuss another subject you may be interested in. Follow up readings are varied and are tailored to your individual needs. Some of my most popular subsequent readings include focusing on your Saturn (your life lesson), the nodes of the Moon (your soul's purpose), and Chiron (your core wound).
-
Are you able to advise me on any financial, relationship, career, health, or other decisions I am trying to make? No, I do not give specific advisement on your future decisions or choices. My readings are meant to show you your basic chart "DNA" so you can begin to understand and accept the gifts and challenges you came into this life with. I encourage you to self reflect so that you can embrace your highest potential. Only you can make the choices and decisions that are right for you (For more information, please read the Full Terms of Service/Legal Disclaimer here).
-
How can I get the most out of my reading?Although certainly not required, in order to get the best reading, it is helpful to give me some background on yourself, particularly anything you think may be impactful on your chart interpretation (especially on your initial reading). I ask that you bring an open mind, and a commitment to being compassionate and nonjudgemental towards yourself. Remember to relax; there are no bad charts! The first part of your session will be dedicated to reviewing the highlights of your chart. I like my sessions to be dynamic and tailored to your needs, and I encourage comments, questions, and conversation. It is best to keep comments or questions brief during this first part so that I am able to cover all of the important topics to be discussed. We can then go back to the parts of the reading that you would like to discuss in more detail. I will attempt to answer as many questions as time allows.
-
Do you do workshops or educational sessions?Yes, I partner with a select few local businesses to provide free, small, and casual workshops about different topics. I also occasionally go live on Facebook and Instagram, and I continue to work at uploading tutorials to YouTube. These are meant to introduce you to the fascinating world of humanistic astrology and are not meant to be chart reading sessions. You can find out about upcoming workshops, live events, and listen to tutorials by following Kelly on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.

Are Astrologers certified?Certification is not required to practice Astrology as it is an alternative science and art form. A good Astrologer must possess integrity, a passionate curiosity, the willingness to continually learn, the natural ability to envision and dissect the labyrinth of a birth chart, and the gift of intuition. I am, however, currently pursuing certification by Debra Silverman, PhD, Applied Astrology Program.
-
What is Humanistic Astrology? The astrologer Gregory J. de Montfort describes this in the most concise and easy to understand manner: "The basic premise of humanistic astrology is that the birth chart reveals the potential of that which we can become."
-
Why is there a key-like symbol in the logo? That is a great question and one of my favorites to answer. The key symbol is the symbol for Chiron in a birth chart. Chiron is known in mythology as "The Wounded Healer." I consider my practice of Astrology as the path that has allowed me to fulfill my own Chiron's healing journey (Discussion of your Chiron cannot be done as part of your introductory reading. However, it is an excellent topic for a follow up reading).
-
Why do you only do non-predictive readings?I only do non-predictive readings because I believe in free will. I certainly agree that some planetary transits are analogous to weather patterns. However, just like meteorologists cannot predict the weather for certain, astrologers cannot guarantee the trajectory of your life. I believe the path to the future is influenced by a combination of inherent characteristics outlined in your natal chart, external circumstances, and free will.
-
What are inner planets? The inner planets (which include the luminaries) influence you on an individual and personal manner and are thus often called the "personal planets." In addition to the luminaries (Sun and Moon), the personal planets are Mercury (how you think and communicate), Venus (your values and what you love), and Mars (your drive, how you act).
-
What are houses? The houses in your birth chart appear as the "12 pieces of the zodiac pie." Each of these pieces represent an area of life. Each is a backdrop or "stage" that the planets and signs are acted out on in your life.
-
What is a natal chart? The natal chart is another name for your birth chart. In Western Astrology it is depicted as a circle with 12 sections. Each individual chart has specific sign and planetary placements based on your birth month, day, year, time, and place of birth.
-
What are the outer planets? The outer planets have a collective influence; however, they do interact with your personal planets in a unique way. The outer planets include Jupiter (positive influence and expansion), Saturn (discipline, restriction, and life lessons), Uranus (revolutionary ideas, originality, sudden change), Neptune (imagination, boundaries, spirituality) and Pluto (power and transformation).
-
What is a planetary transit?A transit describes what the current planetary positions are relative to the positions in your individual birth chart. Some transits are short term and others are long term; the length depends on the orbit of each particular planet. Transits are like "weather patterns" in your life that ask you to attend to particular areas in your life.

What is the importance of the luminaries (Sun and Moon) in Astrology? The Sun is the luminary that represents your ego, vitality, and basic personality. Your "Sun Sign" is also known as your "Star Sign," and is the sign that most people know. It is based on the month and day that you were born. The Moon is the luminary that represents your inner emotional nature, your instinctive emotional responses, what makes you feel safe and nurtured, and how you nurture. The Moon changes its sign approximately every 2.5 days. If you were born within a few hours of the beginning or end of this change, providing an inaccurate birth time can potentially change the sign of the Moon in your chart. In Astrology, the Rising, Sun, and Moon signs, when combined, form a very good foundation for interpretation of your basic personality and temperament.
-
What are aspects and why are they important? An aspect is an angle drawn between planets or other points in the chart. The major aspects are the Conjunction (0°), Sextile (60°), Square (90°), Trine (120°), and Opposition (180°). Major aspects are those that are divisible by 10 and evenly divided in relation to a 360-degree circle. These are important because they show how the energies of each planet may interact with each other to influence your personality and your choices. The angle formed can provide either complementary or difficult dynamics within your personality. Knowing and understanding them can help you use your free will to make the most of the easy aspects and to balance and grow from the difficult aspects.
-
What is the Rising Sign? The Rising Sign, otherwise known as the Ascendant (AC), is the sign that was on the horizon at the exact time of your birth, and is thus the sign at the beginning of the first house in your natal chart. It is considered the doorway to your chart. It represents how others see you. More importantly, the characteristics of this sign in their highest manifestations represent what you are intended to "rise into" in this life. It is often referred to as your soul. Likewise, the signs that are on 90-degree angles from the AC are dependent on this birth time. If you look at a birth chart, you will see these labeled as the IC, DC, and MC. Each of these angles represent a very important energetic point in your chart. Analysis of these points cannot be done without an exact birth time.
